ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate the main features of psychosis as a mental health problem and how do people who have been diagnosed with such illness cope with day to day life. Some of the challenges faced by community mental health systems include the way services are reimbursed, ways to reach out and engage individuals diagnosed with psychosis in treatment services, and workforce development issues. Innovation may be required to reach this population through personnel and methods that are not currently in place. Finally, at the present time, there are very few options for training and supervision in day to day treatment, and most options are available. Clearly, it is important to continue to think about how to implement effective therapeutic adjuncts to medication interventions in order to promote recovery for those who are faced with this challenging illness.

INTRODUCTION

The term psychosis medical myself psychiatric, mental situations where there is a defect in a component of the process of logical thinking and rational thought perception. People suffering from psychosis may be subject to bouts of hallucination hallucinations, and adherence to the beliefs of utopian delusional beliefs confused thoughts. It is difficult to determine the cause of a first psychosis episode. Psychosis is associated with several medical conditions including schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder and substance abuse (Mathews 2006, 121- 133). A first psychosis episode may be a sign of many diseases. This is why it is important to spend a full medical examination. As part of treatment, low doses of anti psychosis drugs are administered and are provided to the patient and his family all the information and support they need. Whenever possible, treatment should not disrupt the patient's daily activities. The treatment of psychosis has progressed enormously in recent years. In many cases, it prevents hospitalization and promotes faster healing and complete (Mandal 2011, 399-412).

Poverty of social support affects various functional outcomes in people with psychosis illnesses. In the psychosis group, adaptive functioning was shown to be associated only with availability of social integration. As the amount of community connection increased, so did overall functioning. It makes sense that individuals who are doing well with work, school, and relationships would be more active in their communities and have increased interactions with all sorts of people (Lyubomirsky 2011, 137-155).
