For a company, measuring its performance plays a very important role in the never ending cycle of improvement. Measuring performance plays a major role in helping the company to identify and keep track of improvement and growth against the goals of the organisation, it helps in determining the opportunities to improve and grow, and also, by measuring the performance of a company, we can compare its performance against both external and internal standards. Basically, the main reasons that we companies need to review their performances are to make sure that they are meeting the requirements of their customers efficiently, to determine reasonable objectives and make efforts to achieve them, to create standard on the basis of which they can make comparisons, to let the employees know how they are performing and to help them to keep in check their own performance level, to draw attention to problems and issues and find out the areas that need attention on priority, and to give feedback on the efforts for improvement.
