Introduction

Nik Incorporated's mission statement is “to cultivate a favorable business, economic, governmental and social climate within the employees, community and partners in order for the residents to have the opportunity to enjoy the highest possible quality of life”.

As previously renowned and established, Kava is a gorgeous island in need of assistance but with possible. In order to make the plan an achievement, time must be devoted in the thought procedure. One of the initial tasks that must be achieved is finding an appropriate place to build triumphant business; a place that will make this venture successful, beneficial and prosperous. Target corporation will be located where the tourist population is.

Discussion

The main problem that seems to surface is the lack of organizational skills. There appears to be no sketch in position to clean up and renew Kava. How can Nik Incorporated make a greater presence on Kava, help the island and maintain profit? The island's economic resources are petroleum, coffee, cocoa, spices, bananas, sugar, tourism fishing and natural gas. The island's disadvantages are the potential disaster threats like tidal waves, tsunamis, typhoons, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, HIV/AIDS, petroleum spills, high risk for avian flu, and internal and external terrorism. Is there a position where there is no possibility of disaster threats? The answer is no. Anywhere that Nik Incorporated decides to make a presence will be susceptible to disaster threats.

What decision making technique is Nik going to use in order to make this venture successful? There is not one single technique. Depending on the task at hand the technique will vary. There will be a combination of techniques used during this venture in order for the venture to be successful. Here is a proposal of examples of the different thinking styles that will be used during this venture (HenDIicks, and Lesser, 2003).

For the architectural, planning and design of the building the appropriate style is the creative thinking style. Creative thinking involves linking ideas that had not been perceived as being in accordance. Creative thinking involves flexibility, originality, fluency, and inventiveness (Barton, and Johanna, 2003). The idea of opening Target Company on such a devastated island is just that; linking two ideas that are not perceived as being in accordance.

The real estate aspect, location, roads surrounding Target corporation, routes to reach the town, ports and future providers of Target corporation (just to name a few) will be handled using scientific thinking style. Scientific thinking requires that personal beliefs and emotions be kept out of the thinking process. Scientific thinking involves collecting data using facts and research to either disprove or prove the theory.

The persuasive thinking style will come into play during the meeting with the government and the population of the Island. Persuasive thinking is a thinking style where the goal is to influence someone else to accept the message that is being conveyed.
