The executives of PeopleSoft rejected the unsolicited takeover from Oracle Corporation due to the fact that an ERP system represents large investment by any company, and Oracle Corporation had change to a next-generation system. Thus, because the support from the ERP provider is critical, the choice of ERP systems is a matter of great importance to companies and PeopleSoft was not willing to test run a new ERP.
