An operating system consists (OS) of several components, and each component of an operating system is designed for some specialized and specific task. The component of operating system which provides support for the hardware is called 'kernel'. The device support of an OS is usually assessed by its kernel (Silberschatz et al., 2012). In this paper, we will compare Linux and Windows on the basis of their feature of support for devices, and we will analyze that which OS is best in terms of device support.
