Introduction
Since the beginning of times man has been constantly working to get technologically advanced. Never in its life span it has stopped from developing or adding new features to the developed or undeveloped technology .Development of Internet is one of the greatest advancement in the history of mankind. Internet has a major part in the development of our society. It is now the main source of communication and information in the present world (Dubie 2009). It is playing the major part in the trade and commerce, education sector, entertainment industry and a good tool for social networking. However, the internet has been the prey of its own triumph as the size of it makes it's very difficult to implement new technologies into it. In other words it's going through the “Ossification “phase. It is the period where the technology growth meets the natural resistance like the example of wide deployment of internet domain multicast in the public sector. More precisely the network has evolved due to its sheer size, Internet Protocol link technologies and new applications, only the architecture has remained the same and is very hard to transform, because of the sheer size of system (Metzler 2012).Internet most suitably performs its current task as a packet network delivering connectivity service, was also designed with the thinking that no longer describe future communication need. Increased security, better support of mobility, flexibility in routing, increased reliability and strong services are the areas where innovation is needed.
Discussion
What is Network Virtualization?
Virtualization is the part of the overall trend in IT industry that comprises of autonomic computing. It is a case in which the IT environment will manage itself basing itself on the perceived activity, and utility computing , in which the computer processor provides utility for which the clients have to pay according to their needs (Dubie 2009). Their goal is to centralize administrative task and at the same time improve on the scalability and overall hardware recourse utilization. With virtualization in place several operating system can run parallel on single processing unit.
This parallelism reduces overhead cost and is different from multi-tasking, which includes running numerous programs on the same operating system (Waters 2010).
Defining Network Virtualization
It is a Networking environment which allows dynamic composing of heterogeneous virtual environment that have co-existence in isolation form one other, this is done by multiple service provider (Waters 2010) .They put custom made end to end service on the fly and manage them effectively on the virtual networks for the final consumer by sharing and using the network resources bought or leased from multiple setup providers.
