Introduction

Thomas Edison created solution to many problems and was known as a great problem solver. He is well known and most famous for inventing the light bulb, and on top of that he has also held patents on a number of devices. For the filament of the bulb he had tried over 3000 different materials before he was able to find the one that worked the best. According to him, many of the people who face failures in life is because they give up and they don't realize how close they were in being successful. This philosophy has lead to many of the inventions of Thomas Edison, and the reason he is known as the most famous problem solver, as for most of what he invented in his time, has solved a number of problems till now (Edison & Runes, 1948). He used to be very passionate regarding solving the problem in hand. In the 1870s power and the electric light were only at the stages of invention. Thomas Edison at that time realized a need and with his great ideas and mind decided to attack problem because he understood there was a need for it and it required a solution. He also understood the fact that in order for it to evolve, power and electric light needed to be viewed as an important innovation. His promotional efforts along with his encompassing and bold inventions brought the history and growth of electric light in to use (Anderson, 1994).
