Impact Evaluation Plan for the Good Sports Program
Summary
The federal government determines the national approach to alcohol consumption reduction, but services and programs implemented at a state level by different. Numerous factors play their integrated role in driving the behaviour of person for taking alcohol which includes upbringing, social gathering, peer groups, social/sports club membership, and community norms surrounding a person. Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) initiated the Good Sports Program (GSP) under one of its pilot projects. Good Sports Program involves three level strategies under accreditation program to enhance its effectiveness in the implementation process. Sports Club membership in the program begins with the Level 0. Main objective of the research is to developed impact evaluation plan for the Good Sports Program. Main reason of choosing impact evaluation is to analyze to what extent sports club are able to control and minimize the use of alcohol, while meeting the legal requirements. Questionnaire will be used as data collection instrument in the impact evaluation plan, which will provide the uniform responses of the target group. Strategy adopted in the plan aimed at getting alcohol users and abusers off drugs and to reduce the likelihood that they will continue behaviour defined as undesirable by sports club management and community members.

Introduction
Alcohol has an adverse effect on physical health and physical conditions. Increasing trend towards using alcohol has been showing its consequences in the form of increasing disorders and health problems. Research conducted by CDCP (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) to examine the health risks associated with alcoholism showed that alcohol is the major cause of neurological, cardiovascular, psychiatric, and physical health related problems. In order to address the problem at the root level, different programs introduced to reduce the alcohol consumption.

Many organizations are playing their role in preventing alcohol related problems in the community. Australian Drug Foundation implemented Good Sports Program under which it provides support and leadership services to community sports clubs for managing the alcohol related problems (Duff, 2007).
This paper explores the impact of implementing the Good Sports Program in independent clubs of Australian community. This paper describes the impact evaluation plan that follows to investigate the effectiveness of the program. Impact evaluation program has been chosen to determine the reduction in risky drinking in the short and long term by club members. Another reason of choosing impact evaluation of Good Sports Program is to investigate the extent to which sports club are able to control and minimize the use of alcohol, while meeting the legal requirements.
