The paper discusses the study undertaken to determine the role of organizations in motivating employees. It keeps into consideration the case study of Mark and Spencer and DHL as research organization. Employee motivation is of paramount important in determining an organization's success, therefore, the sample of the study are the employees. The study uses qualitative research, where data is collected from survey questionnaires. The goal of the study is to find out the extent to which organizations develop policies which keep the employees motivating. It is found that success of DHL is attributed to the employee retention policies like performance appraisals and training that the company undertakes. These policies contribute to employees motivation and consequently to the organization's success.
