ABSTRACT
The vital role of information technology (IT) in the India economy has produced an increasing demand for highly skilled IT professionals. This dissertation, attempts to identify the HR strategies employed by India's top computer executives and the relationship of those decisions to workforce performance. Prior research called for more information from the employer perspective and this study focused on recruitment and selection outcomes as a result of organizational strategies Apart from these secondary resources, data was taken from respondents of two IT companies: Nucleus software Ltd and PNIL Web House Companies using on-line recruitment enjoy a competitive advantage over those that do not use. The on-line recruitment is relatively cheap, comes to candidates who could not be accessed using conventional methods and may be faster and more efficient than other methods. The research was limited to two organisations only. Other firms may be studies in future to increase generalizability
