Abstract

The Homeland Security and Defense are designed as key elements in the formation of nations, since such grant give a certain level of reliability and protection to all people within the nation. In United State in particular is a series of both natural elements such as land to be preserved and protected in the scope of subjects to which they do not belong manage and use them. In this paper the researcher will describe the Role of the Department of Homeland Security and its strategies, and the duty of this department plays in protecting private-sector infrastructure facilities, such as transportation systems, laboratories, Utility power plant facilities, and food stock. The top priority for the DHS is protecting critical infrastructures and key resources of the United States from deliberate terrorist attacks or devastating natural disasters. The protection provided by DHS is essential to the nation's security, public health, and economic vitality. The creation of the Office of Homeland Security and Homeland Security Council, and then the DHS were some of the most important institutional responses to the internal security concerns created by the 2001 terrorist attacks. The new Homeland Security Strategy presents a world of multiple threats that need to be faced by a variety of multinational organizations. In its reduction of the centrality of Islamic terrorism and the rhetoric of freedom breaks with the previous ESN George W. Bush in 2006. Trying to renew American leadership, the 2010 Strategy emphasizes the relationship between foreign and domestic.

Homeland Security refers to the outward manifestations that subjects members of the nation can perceive, and which manifests itself in the sense of tranquility or insecurity of citizens, as it depends on the perception of citizenship in the sense peace, danger or threat to the nation, and therefore for the safety of its citizens. It is inherent in the politics of the nation and is directly linked to the National Power, which provides the means that can be carried in full.

In this paper the researcher will describe the Role of the Department of Homeland Security and its strategies, and the duty of this department plays in protecting private-sector infrastructure facilities, such as transportation systems, laboratories, Utility power plant facilities, and food stock. The paper will further determine if the Department of Homeland Security should play a greater role in security, or are the current security needs being addresses by private security agencies and their executives.
