Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) was originally designed as a maintenance program for use after treatment of addictive behaviors despite also being used as a stand-alone treatment program (Marlatt and Gordon, 2000, Parks & Marlatt, 2009). In the most general sense, the RPT is a program of self-control behavior designed to teach people who are trying to keep the changes in his behavior as to anticipate and address the problem of relapse.
