Introduction

Children and adolescents with behavioral problems are a challenge for us as psychologists, we need to understand and approach. Possible causes of these disorders in order to initiate a treatment that allows these individuals reintegrate into family contexts, educational and social systems to which they belong (Kauffman, Lloyd, Hallahan, Astuto, 1995). The smaller the child, the more difficult is the diagnosis, as a feature of early childhood is that they are restless, impulsive and talk all the time without knowing whether or not they listen to instructions or limits that we adults want comply.

There are some mental health problems emotionally loaded causing difficulties in social adaptation. Biological or genetic factors almost certainly play an important role in the development of behavioral and emotional problems (Ninness, Glenn, Ellis, 1993). Studies have persistently shown a number of families that have children with psychological and behavioral problems; parents with psychopathology are much more likely than children without such problems, and from many studies that a significant role in children's temperament plays genetic factors.
