Criminal Justice Process as a System

There is a right way to fight crime and recidivism rates in the United States? How do we know that the most effective way? What can you feel it is right the other may feel out of place. Because of this discrepancy, the criminal justice system has identified six perspectives on justice. I'm going to explore every perspective and discuss how each of them will relate to domestic violence.

The first point of view, the fight against crime, has a "zero tolerance" approach to criminal justice and is a victim focused. Supporters of this view believe that law enforcement must be increased and the proposals should be rapid, with serious consequences, and containment key to combating crime. Deterrence can be shared, in which criminals are afraid to commit a crime because they fear punishment, or specific, in which punishment sever enough that they never want to commit another crime. Under this perspective, domestic violence issues will be handled with immediate, severe punishment, more than likely, along with imprisonment, if possible no contact orders to protect victims.

After considering each of these points of view, I do not feel that any of them is the most effective means of combating crime and recidivism rates when it comes to domestic violence or any other crime. I think the key is finding a balance between perspectives and to use each of them make the criminal justice system as efficient as possible in the fight against crime in the United States.
