Abstract

People are confronted with various types of pressures on a daily basis. The pressures are more mental than physical. Any mental strain serves to create mental disorders in people. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by illogical thinking, drastic change in behavior, and hearing of sounds. There can be multiple causes which contribute to Schizophrenia. Similarly there are different treatment options available for treatment. Each treatment option is feasible according to the nature of disease.

Introduction

In a professional and demanding environment, people are affected by Mental Disorders on a regular basis. Any disease, having direct implications on a person's mind, is fatal. All mental disorders are dangerous in nature. They need to be diagnosed early. The mental disorder, which I have chosen, is Schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia is a dangerous mental illness that has a direct impact on a person's mind. His way of thinking is disturbed. There is a prominent change in behavior. The experiences, which he encounters in his daily life, are very unique in comparison with the person leading a normal life. It becomes difficult for a schizophrenia patient to distinguish between actual and fantasy based experiences (E Health MD, 2012).

We will look at the causes of Schizophrenia in detail. The biological mechanism and impact will be addressed. We will also look at the treatment options available to Schizophrenic patients. Symptoms prevalent in acute Schizophrenic patients will be identified. Schizophrenia involves intricate details, which need to be addressed. Research tools will be utilized in order to cover up the whole process of Schizophrenia.

Symptoms

In a typical schizophrenia, a person's world changes dramatically. Common things like colors, sounds, or tastes may appear distorted in a bizarre way. The brain transmits information from the senses but gives results in an unorthodox fashion.

As far as symptoms of Schizophrenia are concerned, they tend to vary from person to person. There is no universal thing that the symptoms develop suddenly or gradually. They occur gradually as well as suddenly. It depends upon the seriousness of the disease. In the beginning, symptoms consist of meek feelings of tension, failure to sleep or focus, and a lack of interest in school, work, or friends.

In a more advanced stage of Schizophrenia, patients have the tendency to measure incorrectly the precision of their perceptions. Thus, as a result, an affected person makes incorrect conclusions about reality. Since the mind is not working properly, it results in the improper functioning of the human body. Hallucinations and illusions are disturbances of perception that are common in people with schizophrenia.

A key symptom of a Schizophrenic patient is the existence of Hallucinations. It is characterized by perceptions that arise without connection to an authentic source. They can occur in any form of sense.
