Group Strategy

The long term group strategy for Aggreko; ensures that interests of the diverse shareholders of the company are adequately achieved, through the sustainable operational activities of the company. The shareholder benefits will only be achieved when the company has the ability to remain profitable for not only the short term perspective, but also in the long run. This is the reason why the company has strategized to value the social corporate responsibilities of the company, and also empower its diverse labor force. The employees are regarded as the most significant element for the company's success, and due to this reason the company has made several efforts to empower and develop its human resource. The strategy also focuses the company to be able to cope with the volatile global business environment, and through the globalization perspective, implement the necessary changes. The company transforms its business units as per the requirement of the global business environment, as the global forces have become a influential factor on majority of the businesses. In order to attain the completive advantage in the global business environment, the company has implemented the strategy of establishing novel business units, which cater to the demands of the diverse global markets; and the core standards of the organizational policy can be transferred to all of these globally spread business units (Bay, 2012). This approach gives the company the advantage of exponentially increasing the market share, and also reducing the financial risks by diversifying the business operations.

This strategy was initially introduced into the company in the year 2003, and it became an instant success. The company was not only able to strategically enter new global markets and reap financial gains; it was also able to attain high quality human resource from an ample global pool. The model has been established in the company ever since it introduction in 2003, and now almost has a decade of a successful track record. The company has been able to achieve exponential growth and has increased its market base by a significant margin. Overall the company has experienced the compound growth of 19% in the overall revenues and a 30% increase in the trading of profits. These statistics only highlight the true success of the group strategy at Aggreko; which have not only had a positive impact on the financial aspect, but also the human resource factor.

Business line operational strategy

The organizational strategy at Aggreko is basically subdivided in to two main business lines, which are the local business line and the international line. The local business line strategy is basically based on renting the power control systems to the local clients. The demand for these systems ranges from the large industrial cooling towers to the small scale generators. It is Aggreko's international power projects which are said to build the business in turn operate with the power plants which are temporary plants.
