Introduction

According to Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004, working with other organizations, individuals and professionals is very essential to safeguard and protect the life and welfare of children. These measures and legislations are not only to ensure the life and safety of children, but also to ensure that these organizations, individuals and professionals must understand their duties and responsibilities (www.safeguardingchildren.co.uk). These also include organizations and professionals who provide services to children, young people, parents and families. This requires cooperation of all the stockholders and agencies along with creation of children's trust to provide better services. Inter-professional learning is mainly concern with the education and health work requirements. These organizations look for the appropriate solutions. Interagency deals with the social care services and different programs and plans to support various problems. It deals with the individuals who suffer domestic violence, and become victims of various others social, family, and child issues (www.lhcinteragency.org).

The establishment of Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCBs) is one of the essential steps taken to safeguard and promote children safety. Despite various legislative and other preventive measures, a number of accidents and problems faced by children and their families. One of such case is East Sussex 2008 critical incident, in which, two children faced death in house fire (Rugg, 2011, p. 2-4). These children faced death not only due to fire, but it also resulted due to the failure of multi professional practice and coordination of agencies. In order to identify the roles of various professionals, barriers that contributed to the breakdown of multi professional practice, and to understand that how child's best interest could have been promoted effectively, this case serves as a landmark to study the experience of working with other professionals.

Case Study and Role of Different Agencies and Professionals Working Together to Safeguard Children

In 2008, two children, DC born 2001 age 7 and BC born 2003 age 5 years, killed in a house fire (Rugg, 2011, p. 2-4). The incident occurred at their home and the family was British living in a working class area. At the time of incident, children were living with their mother AB. At the time of incident and during investigation, there was no charge against any one, but later, case study reveals that family had contact with different agencies regarding domestic abuse from her partner, father of children EF, and she also had problems regarding behavior of children. She had reported against EF that her children had witnessed abuse, and it harms them emotionally, even then the agencies failed to provide any protection to her and her children.

EF was prosecuted many times for assault on AB, but again he repeated his actions, but nothing was done to provide protection for children or to save them from witnessing such abuse or verbal aggressiveness as described by his supervisor.
