Introduction

The paper aims at assessing the effectiveness of the workflow model, which is used by many business organizations. In the light of recommended case study, the paper identifies three problems specific to the implemented model of workflow. The paper provides views with the help of a revised model diagram in order to well address the identified issues. In addition to this, the paper analyzes the importance of accuracy and clarity in the workflow modeling. Moreover, the paper describes a strategy that may assist to ensure an accurate and clear design of the workflow model. Finally, the paper concludes important findings and learning outcomes in the form of conclusion.

Discussion

Mukherjee et. al. (n.d.) has defined the workflow model as a collection of interconnected activities in a pattern that may assist to perform a complex and well defined process of activities. It is a model commonly used by different organizations including healthcare institutes. Workflow model may vary from organization to organization depending upon their nature and size of business. Workflow model in the mentioned case study is representing the flow of Deerborne Dialysis's activities. However, there are certain problems identified in the workflow model and suggestions have been made for improvement.

Summary of Identified Problems

Analysis of the workflow model shows that Sharon has missed communicating few important activities that may create vagueness in the decision making process. Since all few of the activities are critical and need special attention in order to avoid delays or mismanagement, following are the specific identified problems in the current workflow model.

Firstly, the initial flow of activities is vague because it does not provide assistance in a case where storage inventory is meeting the requirement.

Secondly, current workflow model is breaking linkage between the cross checked shipment and the list of ordered supplies.
