Work Placement

For my work placement I was taken on by a company called Mayfair Management, who specialise in living property management. I was extremely lucky to gain this place.

Whilst I was taking part in the work placement I was involved in a mixture of different types of work. In the first few days I had to work in a team as we all tried to find a way to black out the room the living property was in. We tried many different methods but eventually we ended up putting up large wooden panels, which I was happy about because I had suggested it. Throughout these days the software proved extremely problematic and my course mates and I tried our hardest to fix these by trying out different software settings but unfortunately it didn't seem to be getting any better. A lot of the time the three of us were left to run the living property ourselves, because the company members were occupied in other work outside of the festival. However the people who had commissioned Mayfair Management weren't completely happy with how it was looking so eventually A, B and C came back to help us out. This put our minds at rest because all of the issues were sorted out, with less than a day to go before the festival began. Once the living property was running perfectly without any troubles, we were able to make finishing touches to the area such as painting and designing the interior of the walkway. I enjoyed this part quite a lot because it allowed me to be creative and I felt a lot calmer knowing the living property was working well.
