Introduction

Individual actions within the cultural models give different levels of women participation in the institutions of our society. The American culture places a number of symbolic representations of women. Throughout history in times of crises, wars, expansions or declines, women have had some role in the world of work. After World War II, women are gaining ever wider land and consciously demanding equal status with men in legal, cultural and general labor.

The woman is ready to occupy senior positions, but I think in America, women are still considered inferior to perform certain tasks. The involvement of woman attracts again the attention of the international community on a new form of inequality of opportunity between the sexes, which tends to widen worldwide. The new divide is found in the skilled engineers and technologists are always dominated by the stronger sex. The introduction of women into the workforce is recent. Most of the time women are expected to be employed while senior administrative positions are held by men. Society today (fortunately at least) do not trust the abilities of women as entrepreneurs. Today there is a concern for the future employment of women and I think it assesses the potential impact of women as leaders. On the other hand I think some men are not ready to accept taking orders from a woman.

The Female Performance

The mean female performance functional regularity in behavior: People act in accordance with a scheme that allows them to fulfill a specific function. This is the observation of a learned model; role model is organized in relation to the individual's position within the group with which they interact. Understandably, therefore, attitudes, values ??and behaviors assigned by society to all people. Personality plays an important role in the selection and integration of the multiple roles assumed by the individual and, conversely, each of the roles will leave their mark on the personality, as regards the absorption of social and cultural patterns of an intellectual, emotional, aesthetic, etc.

The female employee

The equation between man and woman in the world of work is still distant. However, the number of female gender with job role is growing every day. Change not only the quantity but the characteristics of the job. However, the proportion of women in senior positions is considerably lower than they deserve for their skill level.

Women began to work out of economic necessity, women of lower economic status, married or single, working outside the home. Women's wages tend to be lower. In addition, working women had and still have to perform the household chores on a par with their duties. (Smith, 2003)

Thesis Statement

With the passage of time the male dominant society is being transformed, so equal employment opportunities for woman in the engineering discipline awaits.
