Williams High School

The analysis of the overall student data is the need of the school to increase the students' who have been scoring high and the decrease in the low scoring students as well as increase the scores of students in ACT assessments. The high school also realizes the need to improve the quality of the instructions provided by the school. The district target provided to the William High School is the average of 1.8 on DOL, instructional objectives, engagement and alignment. The School's system evaluation would consist of processes, philosophy, implementation and capacity.

Philosophy

The plan includes the establishment of equivalence between the current and desired top priorities as well as going through the goals, core beliefs and plan much more frequently. Another important factor would include the behavior of staff as it helps reinforce the philosophy of the school and the primary priorities are followed. For this, the Leadership team would need to include more staff in the key actions and the mission of the school.

Processes

The school would want the teachers to work collaboratively and use the data of achievement to improvement the process of instruction. All students are provided access to the thorough curriculum (Second International Handbook of Educational Change, 2010). This would facilitate them in their critical thinking process. Guidance and instructions are created for the strong as well as the weak students. This would be enhanced by promoting the culture of more student talk and lesser teacher talk.

Implementation

The teachers are encouraged to develop strategies and approaches to facilitate student questioning. This is to enhance their critical thinking process as it is known throughout that the students who ask more questions learn more (Unterman, & Davis, 1984). Furthermore, the instructional feedback is provided to teachers of which the majority of them believe that it has helped them in improving the instructions.

Action Plan

The plan revolves around the enhancement of student learning and facilitating their thought process.

The mission of the Williams High School is the empowerment of the students in reaching their greatest potential as lifelong learners in both the development of the character as well as the materialization of the academic goals. Decisions are taken everyday which are based on the vision and mission of what the School hopes of becoming. The schools wants to be recognized as a place where the all the students reflect an annual growth and could become positive contributors to the community. The vision and the mission of the school could not be achieved without its Core Beliefs (Unterman, & Davis, 1984). The teachers would need to develop an understanding of the driving force of the actions of the school in order to achieve the goals and support the academic priorities of the school, both at the district as well as the school levels.
