What are we afraid of?

Frank Furedi, a renowned sociologist has written many books on the topic of sociology. He and other authors have explained different ways through which western cultures avoid, misapprehend subvert risk. He also has written many other books on different topics and aspects. He has written Where have all the intellectuals gone, Therapy culture, and paranoid Parenting. The author discussed the elite and enjoyable lives of the influential people of America. Leading such a life was not only common in America, but also in very European countries. He discussed that the current politicians and political situation requires battles and conflicts of ideas. These politicians hardly agree on any matter and are always in look for their immediate benefits.

The author argued that we must take the ideas more seriously and think critically about such concepts and problem. When we will think about it critically, we will find good results and solution to many political problems. If we start thinking about the issues and try to analyze various government policies, only than we can move to the original form of democracy, and participatory situation. This book takes into account the terrorist attack of the year 2001, and its impact on the country (George Fitz-Gerald, 2007, pp. 317-393).

Terrorism has become a very serious issue these days, as it not takes lives of the people, but also have negative impacts on the economy and society. Hence, value has become the fundamental and most important aspects about the live of individuals.
