Introduction

In recent times, there has been a lot of criticism regarding the media, especially television, for it has potential impact on people. Today's media influence the life's of almost all of us, particularly the lives of the children, which is an area of concern, as in when a child should be exposed to television and media, and what role it plays in cognitive and the academic development of a child. An Australian child consumes more time watching television, as compared to the time he spends in school. It is the job of all people related to media to empower kids by putting more emphasis on educational programs. Now, it is the job of people related to the media to promote such educational programs, which would help in the development of a child's cognitive and academic skills.

Television was designed for entertainment and violence on television is entertaining. People enjoy action packed TV shows and movies, but if a person sees a man jumping over buildings to escape the police it does not mean that they are going to go rob a bank and evade the police by jumping over buildings. The whole point of movies is for us to watch what we can never do. Movies and television allow us to see things that can never be done in real life. They are just there for our entertainment.

There are many other things that trigger violence, such as, drugs, experiences, and also by the type of people we are surrounded by. It takes one wrong decision to ruin a life and when people are not thinking rationally is generally when these decisions take place. I believe all people are capable of doing bad things they do not think they could ever do. I also think people are capable of doing really good things that they never thought they could do. The thing about people is we are so unpredictable, one day we can be the nicest person in the world and then all of a sudden violence is triggered and we see ourselves as someone different.

Today, all members of our society are influenced both directly and indirectly by powerful media vehicles, including printed materials, television, sound recordings, and the Internet.

Argument Discussion

It will not be wrong to say that kids learn and picks up things very instantly, it is like they think of it as their job. Starting from the time of birth, a child uses his senses to understand the world and the happening to go around him, which also includes media largely, a we know that children picks up things immediately, it will not be right to show children violent videos or movies, it is the job of the parents to recognize that a child lacks the experiences of life he only believes in things that he sees happening around him.
