Violence against Women

Research Design

The data collection for this study was carried out by a questionnaire survey with a small sample of hundred women randomly selected. The major reason is that this specific demographic group is usually more familiar with violence that takes place in America and uses them more than the general issues. There was a possibility that all respondents have experience in giving permission and personal information to others. Another reason for choosing women was that the questionnaire can be done only by people who have come across such violence (Schuler, 1992).

Research Ethics

The questionnaires will be even designed in such a way that it is not at all going to violate ethical values during the research process. Even when the data was collected from various other sources, the ethical aspect was given a lot of value at that time. So, it is quite clear that the Research Ethics was followed in a proper way during this research.

Strength and Weakness of the Mixed Research

The strengths and the weaknesses using for the mixed methodology are given below.

Strengths

To add meaning to the numbers pictures can be used to support data.

To add to precision to narratives, pictures and words, numbers can be used.

A ground theory can be tested and generated by the researcher.

Due to the principle of triangulation the researcher can provide stronger conclusions.

Weaknesses

Carrying out qualitative and quantitative research together can create a lot of the problem for the researcher and it may require a team to be used for such purpose.

Proper understanding must be needed so that the researcher can conduct mixed research accurately.

This research is very expensive, and it takes a lot of time to be conducted.

Interpretation of the result from mixed methodology can be difficult, as well.
