Evaluating the Roles of Prosecutor, Defense Attorney, Criminal and Victim

Analyzing the roles of prosecutors, defense attorneys, criminals and victims within criminal justice system remains extremely important. Starting off with the prosecutor; prosecutor remains extremely important for the representation of any legal proceedings taking place in relation to any case. The work of prosecutor is to ensure that the state and local community achieve rightful justice against any complaints provided against the criminal defendants.

The job description of a prosecutor is to convince the jury about the evidence and making the defendant guilty. Generally, prosecutors are searching evidences to present within the courts. Prosecutors are considered an extremely integral part of the criminal justice system as the essence of justice resides within the effectiveness of evidences being provided by the prosecutors. Prosecutors also possess the ability to drop or reduce any of the charges while the case remains in progress (Packer, 2009).

On the other hand; a defense attorney is essentially a person who is hired by the defendant for the purpose of representing the defendants within the criminal proceedings or any other type of lawsuits. The interest of the defendant becomes the interests of the defense attorney. The job of defense attorney is essentially more difficult than that of a prosecutor because it is always easy to prove someone guilty than to save someone from the underlying penalties and punishments.

The job description of defense attorney also includes assessing whether the defendant is getting chances of fair trial in the court or not. The basic aspect of the job of defense attorney is to assure that the defendant is provided with all the underlying rights within the courts during the course of preceding the lawsuit. Making appeals in the cases where the clients are not satisfied is also the right of the defense attorney.

After explaining briefly the roles of prosecutors and the defense attorney; coming down to the most important stakeholders of the criminal justice system which are criminals and victims is essentially important. As suggested by the names; the victims are the ones who suffer the crimes and the underlying consequences of the crimes and criminals are the ones who commit the crimes and are faced with prosecution within the courts (Mark, 2006).
