The criminal justice system of United States is a systematic body which practices and governs social control by eliminating crime from the society. It also gives criminal penalties to people who violate the laws and give protection to individuals who are victim top various crimes and criminals. The criminal justice system is based on three major parts which are legislative, adjudication and correction. In the criminal justice system, the three main bodies work together under the rules and regulations of law and try to maintain the law in the society for the betterment and safety of people.
The paper will discuss the different roles of prosecutor, defense attorney, criminal and victim in the criminal justice system. It will also highlight the impact of victimization on each role, followed by recommendations regarding victim rights.

Role of prosecutor
The prosecutor is the chief representative of all the prosecutions with the common law and civil law system of the nation. The prosecutor is primarily responsible for presenting the case in the trail against any individual who has been accused of violating the law.
The prosecutor play three major roles which are investigating the crime, to decide whether to instigate the proceedings or not and whether to appear in the court or not.thr prosecutor investigates the criminal activities with the police department and contacts with the criminal who is suspected and also conducts interviews with the witnesses. Once the investigation is completed, the prosecutor determines whether it should be taken to court or not and if not he also imposes a fine on the suspected person (Adler, 2004)
Role of defense attorney
The defense attorney is the legal representative of the individual who is suspected of violating the laws. The defense attorney spends a lot of time in analyzing the case, witnesses and their statements and also their client's statements in order to proceed with the case. The defense attorney is also responsible to keep the clients update with all the aspects of the case and make recommendations on how to proceed and handle the case (Barlow, 2000)
