Introduction

Usability defines the method for the enhancing ease of use in the process of design. Usability describes the quality by assessing the degree of easiness in using user interfaces. Usability defines the degree to which users are able to perform a collection of necessary tasks. This product often conflict with the design objectives. There are five components by which usability can be defined. These five components include learnability, memorability, efficiency, satisfaction and errors (Nielsen Norman Group, 2012).

Learnability defines the degree of easiness for users to complete their fundamental tasks at the very initial time when they come across the design. When the users learn to operate the designs then efficiency describes that how rapidly users are able to execute their tasks. When the users after a certain period of time return to the design, memorability defines the easiness in reestablishing the proficiency. Errors are used to define the degree of making errors by users, severity of the errors and the degree of easiness in recovering from those errors. Satisfaction is used to define the degree of satisfaction in using the design (Nielsen Norman Group, 2012).

Discussion

Usability assessment is the necessary and extremely essential tool for the survival of the web site. Web sites are made efficient in such a way that enables its users to know and operate the web site at ease. Users leave to use the web sites when they find the web sites difficult and complicated. When the homepage of the web site are failed to clearly assert about the products and offers of the company then users leave to use the web sites. When the information in the web site is hard to understand then users leave to use the web sites (Nielsen Norman Group, 2012).
