Introduction

United States provides certain facilities for the citizens. United States is very famous when it comes to beneficiary welfare program for the people. There are many programs through which people can take advantage. It helps people to avail the opportunities of various beneficiary welfare programs. There are so many social services for people of United States. Social welfare programs are basically the biggest communal programs in the United States. Its major function is to help the people. There were many of difficulties and modifications in the country but social welfare programs eventually took place. The homeland was in dire need of certain thing, anything to get the United States back on its feet socially and economically. The social welfare programs are very acknowledging programs, because by the time it became a regulation, the people are eager to try anything from the society.

There are many social welfare programs in the United States and some of the major programs are School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, Medicare, and Food Stamp programs. These beneficiary programs are very essential for the people who have for these social Welfare beneficiaries.

A. Social Welfare Programs

School Lunch and Breakfast Programs

This program is usually for the school children who have low resources of food and meal. These children face difficulty in several things. This program is basically designed to support the children by providing good and healthy meals to children of private and public schools. Mostly this program is designed for the needy children. The approximate criterion for the income poverty is 130% and approximately 185% for meals with reduced prices.

Currently there are approximately 379 schools food authorities that usually participate in this social welfare program to provide the school children better meal. It includes 46 private schools, 56 institutions of residential child care, and 277 public schools.

Medicare

Medicare is another most essential social welfare program in the United States which usually provides medical facilities to the old age people. This is that main part of social welfare program. People who need medical help have been given through this social program. According to the congressional budget office, Medicare expending will apparently add up to approximately 6.3% of GDP in 2016, up from 4.6 in 2007. If nothing is done to check the growth of spending on social insurance, federal spending as a share of the economy will increase by half, from about 20 percent to almost 30 percent, over the next 30 years (Sloan et. al, 2007) .

Food Stamp programs

The initial notion of the Food stamp programs was to evolve a way to give nutrition food to the needy that have no work to do and are severely needed. The agriculture department of the United States continues to conduct studies and research for improvement of this particular program.
