1. Major Components, Networks, and Competencies in the Field Of Training and Development (T&D)
This presentation will help the new trainers in understanding the major components, networks, and competencies of training and development and they will be better able to manage their duties and responsibilities in an effective way. The new trainers should be able to understand the corporate responsibilities of the trainer in an organizational setup, as it makes them capable of handling the issues that are raised within an organization (Aguinis & Kraiger, 2009).
There are three major components of training and development those are as follows:
Training
An activity that helps an individual in improving it performance and in managing the job description in an effective way is commonly known as training.
Education
Education is an activity that focuses on those jobs that a person can adopt in the future and it is evaluated against all those jobs.
Development
Development is an activity that focuses on the activities that an organization utilizes in employing an individual.
Training and development is one of the most important functions of human resource management. Currently, training and development is considered as an essential practice that can help an organization in becoming successful in the marketplace. Organizations that are holding quality training and development department are found having more productive employees. Various researchers have drawn attention of organizations towards the importance of training and development. Training and development can be very helpful for employees, as it makes them aware of how to handle the tasks and responsibilities in an effective way. There are various kinds of trainings that are given to the employees at an organizational level. The training and development activities that are incorporated within an organization should have strategic implications to the overall organizational performance; otherwise it will be of no use to an organization (Thayer, 2012).
The organizations need to communicate the broader objectives of training and development to all the employees of the organization only then they would be better able to link themselves to it. The role of the trainer is not only to bring improvement in the performance of employees, but also bring positive change in their attitude and behaviour, so that they can better fit themselves in the organizational culture and structure. Trainer should have an appealing personality, as it will help him or her in motivating the employees (Saks; Tamkin & Lewis, 2011). The trainer should be able to handle the issues that are raised by the employees such as performance issues, conflict management, task management and stress management etc.
In today's work environment the organizations are looking for skilled workers rather than unskilled, as skilled workers can handle the assigned duties and responsibilities in an effective way than the unskilled workers.
