Water should be a source of life and not death. The only long term solution is to prevent the pollution of fresh water. Some alternatives are:

The largest and simplest of these solutions is to put systems in place to recover organic waste (polite term for saying piss and shit) viable, where such systems exist, i.e. 40% of the world population.
