The term “Tour Operators” refers to individuals or groups who arrange a tour and travel mechanism to design a holiday. There are a number of examples of tour operators, such as a transport o the holiday destination and pick and drop from and to the hotel, and services of representatives, everything in one price (O'Neill & Palmer, 2004).

With the rapid increase of the internet, the tour operators industry has tremendously grown. People, all over the world, plan their holidays in the areas which are far from the hustle and bustle of the noisy cities, and where they can make up with affordability. Moreover, people want all facility under one roof ad they do not want to waste their time in arranging the holidays. Hence, people are now turning towards the package deals offered by the tour operators. Globalization

It must be noted that people nowadays more frequently travel than before. According to the survey conducted in 2010 by Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises that the arrival of tourists from international flights rose from 673 million in 2000 to 939 million in 2010. This massive increase in the tourism certainly enhances the business of tour operators. Moreover, the European countries receive comparatively high rate of tourism, so the tour operator industry flourishes here better than any other part of the world.

Hospitality

Hospitality refers to the provision of service along with quality, comfort and excellence. Tourism is based on these values. People want to avail these services during their stay and hence, spending money to make their visits as comfortable and memorable as ever. This trend in the tourism has affected the tour operator industry in terms of quality and excellence. Moreover, tour operators have links with all the other machinery of tours, like information of airlines, hotels, holiday destinations, business venues, tourism boards and with other government authorities. Tour operators provide you with complete information and with destination which best suits you.

Security and Safety

With the growing rate of terrorism worldwide, the security has become a major concern of tourists and the people who plan their holidays. There are a number of examples in which tourists have been kidnapped, murdered and robbed. This trend has given rise to the security and safety management. Tour operators are therefore, preferred by many people as they ensure the security of customer's life and property (Richards et al, 2007)

Diversity

No industry is as diverse as the tourism is. Tourists from different cultures and nations expect special care and dealing from the host country. This gives rise to the number of diverse employment in hotel management and tourism. Tourism offers a number of jobs and businesses. Tour operators are one of them.
