Introduction

The aim and object of this assignment is to analyze that to what extent the masculinity is inherited from the past? It means that heritance of masculine features and qualities from forefathers to off springs. The discussion is made on the biological factors which are responsible for the inheritance of masculine qualities. In this assignment, The facts, figures and the existing methods and researches will be analyzed to identify the evidences which are proposed by various researches. The Mendelian Research, in this regard, is very important which conducts the genetic analysis which depicts to what extent masculinity is inherited.

Masculinity

Masculinity is referred to such characteristics or qualities which are considered important for the male persons to become a man. The masculine qualities are usually inherited from the forefathers and sometime it can be weak if the family structure is weak. The masculinity is identified in parents through the traits which are identified through different genes which are transmitted in the child from the parents. For instance, in sex genes, if the traits are inherited from father then it would be present on the Y chromosome only. If it is present on Y chromosome, then it means that the child has inherited biological features and masculine traits of father more than his or her mother.

The roots of masculinity can be found in genetics which is the study of gender. The masculinity seems to be different in every different culture; therefore, it greatly affects the gender traits of the males. Children usually inherit the qualities and the features of their parents. Sometimes they adopt more female qualities than male qualities. It is because of the changes which take place in the sex genes of the parents.

Inherited traits from parents

The traits that are inherited from parents are passed from generations to generations through the genes of parents. A few biological traits can be passed through father or the mother only. The passage of these biological traits among the off springs is dependent on the strength of those traits. These traits identify the masculine qualities in the males and it is dependent on the genes of father which are transmitted in the male children. Following are the traits through which the masculinity is transferred from parents to off spring:

Maternal

The traits of mothers are not really strong as the traits of fathers, which are difficult to pass to the children. It is because males have one X and one Y chromosome and the traits of X- chromosome should be inherited from the mother only. In the result, females receive X chromosome from each parent and inherit the traits of X-linked chromosomes.
