Theories of Love

Introduction

Love has been considered one of the most controversial issues in their possibilities of understanding and rational explanation. However, virtually all the great philosophers and psychologists have developed theories about what constitutes the key element in the lives of humans. If you do not count on a representation of what love is, any attempt to explain the human process would fail (Sternberg & Barnes, 1988, pp. 250-255).

Love is not just an event but a process that develops, improves and builds on the cultural imperatives and the belief system of each individual. Quite often, a relationship starts with "love", or hobbies. Love this kind implies a strong desire to get close to another human being and a desire to express their emotions and sexual affection. Passion can be exciting and pleasurable experience, however, and this medal has a reverse side. Love can make people suffer, if the lover could not reciprocate the strong feelings of love. Also, when people have a mutual love, they are usually willing to spend more time together, their relationship gradually disappear usual social barriers, and they are more sensitive to each other. Over time, a sense of shared intimacy becomes deeper, and ultimately between people may have sexual relations. Most people want to save their relationship. At this stage the relationship partners tend to promise each other: "I will always love you", "I will never forsake you" or "I'll never hurt you" (Boris, 2002, pp. 110-112). But love ends sooner or later. Often along with it and end the relationship, because in our society there is a perception that true love can only be considered love. The initial stage of love may give a more sustained and deep relationships - the stage of love. Partners make a conscious decision to stay together. They are ready to show mutual care and feel for each other enough trust to begin building a lasting relationship. Partners understand that their love is greater fleeting passion, view their relationship as a process of communication, discussion and compromise when necessary to overcome and solve all the troubles of this period together. In addition, to love another person means to respect and appreciate it, regardless of individual differences and discrepancies. As a result, partners can learn to accept their differences as another source of pleasure rather than a nuisance (Fisher, 2004, pp. 156-160).

Gradually fold the concept of love, based on research findings. Some scientists believe that love - this is probably not an innate tendency, and the reaction that occurs as a result of socialization, others find the love of one human emotion. Comparative analysis of ethnographic data show that between different cultures existing in ideas about love, sex and intimacy there is a noticeable similarity between how individual differences may have on the formation of the fundamental relationship for love attitudes and behavior of a particular person is much more significant impact than the cultural environment. In the future, these assumptions were confirmed by the results ...
