Introduction

Health determinants of elderly people in Community Clinical Project

The community clinical project which I have undertaken is focusing on the elderly people of nursing home located in Greenwich Connecticut. In the old age people face many health issues such as difficulty in recognizing faces, loss of memory, tiredness, fatigue, loss of appetite, aggressiveness in behavior and declining of mental and physical health. These are also determinants which make older people, whose age ranges between 60 and 70, vulnerable to become sick. In the old age people have to face a lot of health issues due to which they become frustrated and think that this problem are never going to end. In this situation, their thinking power started dwindling, and they start to take more stress. I observed many cases of old patients which are discussed above also the abnormal behavior which they used to show frequently. Irritation, anger and loss of temper are the common outcomes in the old age. A slight loose talk can shift the temperament of old people, and nobody knows how they will act the very moment they feel disturbed by any conversation. Moreover, they face reversals at the fag end of their life which make them feel depressed and gloomy. The fear of dying makes them feel terrible. They think every day about death and look behind all those years which they have passed. They do not accept the fact that death is approaching very fast and will take them with her, and they would leaves this world in which they have spent their all the years of their life. They remain cautious because death might come to them any moment. I analyzed 75 people out of which 10 were dying, and 5 were very afraid that death will approach them early because of being a young old. They were physically fit health wise and remain in a good health till the last period of their life

Community health diagnosis

The community health diagnosis which drove me to my community clinical project includes the health conditions of the people who are in the old age. Their health problem due to which their health was deteriorating swiftly includes mental and physical declining of their health, aggressive behavior towards others, loss of appetite, degeneration of brain cells and other sensory cognitive conditions. All the problems were related with the old age which all the old age people face. In the old age people, face reversals and their physical and mental abilities started to decline. They become closer to religion and take part in spiritual exercises which provide relief to them and release their stress and anxiety.
