Abstract

Technology has changed the face of the existing world. It has transformed the work of effort into the world of single touch or a single slick. Al the aspects of life were never easier as before. It has globalized the world and accord to the famous phrase, the world has transformed to a global village where everyone can get connected to the other no matter how far they are. Technology has killed all the distances and brought the people close together. All aspects of life like communication, transportation, banking, management, business, education, medicine and healthcare, marketing were never as much easier. The leisure and entertainment media as progressed a lot because of technology. Life is easier and luxurious due to implementation of the technologies in all fields of life. This paper discusses the main stream popular culture of technology and the role it plays in daily life.

Technology has become the main stream culture.

Introduction

The meaning of the term has changed significantly over a period of time. It has transformed itself in last 100 years. Technology can be defined as the development and advancement in the production of goods and services to make life easier and convenient. It is the application of scientific knowledge on the practical scenario. The term technology can further be elaborated with the help of five terms: knowledge, instruments, production, change and possession. All these elements combine to form technology (Postman, 1992). The development aspects of technology are one of the major derivatives that have played a key role in the process of globalization. No disease is beyond cure now. No country is at a distance. From online shopping to the management of human resources, technology has shrunken the world to almost nothing.

Discussion

The invention of airplanes, computers and communication based on satellite networks, made it possible for the degree of information exchange, individual communication across the globe and commodity trade. Means of transportation and telecommunication can be a major contribution to the series of technologies that are making life easier for a human being.

Digital and interactive media technology

The new generation is moving with the new technology, known as the interactive media technology. This has become very important [art of their lives. The student or the learners who belong to this generation are called 'Net-Generation'. They spend plenty of their time using the internet technology for learning and business purposes(Postman, 1992).
