An Evolution on Social Behavior

Introduction

Social behavior in sociology is referred to the behavior of individuals that is directed towards the society. In other words, social behavior means the behavior of individuals that is influenced by other individuals in the society. It is very important to understand that social behavior is meant by the influence of behaviors by the members of the same species or society. Any behavior that is being influenced by the members of other species is not considered as social. In some cases, social behavior also involves communication to understand the concept of social behavior or the influences of behavior on the individuals in the same society. These communications basically involve changing a behavior or provoking a response. These communications play a vital role in the evolution of social behavior in the situation when the behaviors of other individuals do not have a direct action or response on the receiver (Behrendt, pp. 30).

It is very important to understand that behavior involves social context or social meaning that play a vital role I understanding the concept of social behavior. Social behavior is directed towards social actions that are influenced by other individuals in the society, and in turn is intended to receive response to the adoption of the social behavior. It is very important to understand that communication plays a vital role in the evolution of social behavior among individuals. A brief discussion of about the evolution of social behavior is presented as follows.

Discussion

Social behaviorism is the most interesting aspect among the different phases of an individual's life. The evolution of social behavior is a difficult subject to be explained. Social behaviorism involves different subjects within in it that collectively shape up the social behavior of individuals. It has been studied and observed that natural selection, neural mechanisms, evolutionary history, development and social environment play a vital role in shaping and influencing social behavior. Another significant finding is that the evolution of social behavior could also be referred to the discipline of ecology biology to be related with the social behaviors. Social behavior could be generally classified into four categories. These categories are explained from the perspective of an actor and a receiver. It is important to understand that an actor is a person who acts or influence a behavior, and the receiver is the person who gets affected by the behavior of the actor. The general classifications of the evolution of social behavior are mentioned as follows.

Mutually beneficial - This is referred to a behavior that increases the direct fitness of both the recipient and the actor.

Spiteful - This is a behavior that decreases the direct fitness of both the recipient and the actor.

Altruistic - This is a behavior that increases the fitness that directly affect the recipient, but the actor suffers a loss.

Selfish - This is a behavior that increases the direct fitness of the actor, but the recipient suffers a loss.
