Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is an acute leukemia, the malignant degenerated from precursor cells of the lymphocytes proceeds. This leads to a usually rapidly progressive bone marrow failure ending (decreased bone marrow function), i.e. a weakening healthy blood cells with a deficiency of erythrocytes (red blood cells) (Hoffbrand, Moss, et al, 2011). This is accompanied by an increasing general weakness and bleeding. The leukocytes (white blood cells) in the blood may increase initially, normal or even decreased.
