Granulocytes, which are a category of white blood cell, typically include neutrophils, eosinophils and basophils. Neutrophils, also known as polymorphs, are the type of phagocytes that are usually found in the bloodstream (Hoffbrand, 2011). All of these are formed in the bone marrow but, there are a number of growth factors that control the formation of these. Neutrophils, eosinophils and basophils, are formed in the blood stream but, they spend a very short span of time and enter the tissues.
