Introduction

Social problems are the problems that the society takes as undesirable. Social problems include poverty, discrimination, inequalities in education, Unemployment, racism etc. Social problems can be caused by, state, national, or international factors. One of the major social problems that the society of USA face is inequalities in education.

Discussion

Education distribution and equality is one of the most important factors for a country's economy, politics and its society. Education is given to kids, when they grow up, they become a vital part of the country's economy. They strive to become professional and help the country grow with the skills they learn through formal education. Therefore, it is vital that a country's education system is meeting the bench mark, and it provides them good foundation for future generation. That is why education has a direct bearing on a country's society, economy and its politics. (Baum, et.al, 2010). With a diverse culture and society consisting of people from all race and colors, educational inequality is a major problem faced by the contemporary US today.

The educational inequalities are clearly visible in the African-Americans and Latinos societies of the great America. On the other hand, this imbalance goes in favor of the Asians who have been great on the educational front. All these imbalances are can be explained via the bringing up and the cognitive skills of these cultures. It is seen that there is a big gap between the incomes of blacks to that of the whites, and same is the case with credentials (Farkas and Vicknair, 1996).

Research on the schooling of the two sides reveals some of the major factors in the huge divide between the two. Two main causes of the divide are the concentration of the parents towards their children and the economic factors. It is seen that families with better social status, as compared to lower ones tend to have better education. This is due to the fact, that they have better financial resources to meet the children's requirements. On the other hand, the families with poor finances tend to be more concerned with making ends meet than to provide for formal education. Their stressed life has a direct influence on the parenting of their children. Parental resources available needed to spend on the children have a direct bearing on the imbalance (Beck 1981).
