Stroop Effect

Abstract

The Stroop has enunciated by Stoop in 1935 with the adverse effect of vision and the changing influence in the vision power. The test defines the different levels of the color effecting and the consequences which have risen after this test. In this article, certain measures effects of the Stroop methods are defined, for knowing the special effects of this test. With the change of time, the method of the test is enhanced according to the usage. The change in the methods is attractive by using the different techniques. Usage of different pattern stabilized the Stroop test among others. This article also represents the multiple beneficial successive results that achieved after implementing the Stroop test.

Stroop Effect

Introduction

The Stroop test had been enunciated by Stroop in 1935 which comprehends the major process of being for attention. The basic aim of this test, to analyze effects of the colors, vision power and estimating the irrelevance of color (Ludwig et al., 2010). This test is a revelation of meddling the reaction period of a task. The task include special color test, which have a bright effect for attracting the vision of a person such as, red, blue or green. These three colors have highly prioritized for this test (Naylor et al., 2012). The test noticed many variations of the identical test for which three dissimilar varieties of stimuli were created. In the first layer, the significant color name emerges in black ink; the second test changed the vision of the original color and appeared in other color. The third process was doubled of the given color. When Stroop started this test, many people were positively targeted for this test; just for check the different layers of the vision. The Stroop test is usually explained the two major theories, in which the test is totally dependable. These theories are attention theory and Speed of processing the test (Funes et al., 2010).

Method

Speed of Processing

This test was enunciated by Fraisse in 1969 suggested that, reading is the quicker process rather than color of the text (Pinel. 2007). He provided authentic documentation by examining the practical test using several people. Speed is the only factor that analyze when the person is concentrated in reading the paper continuously, so he mostly avoid examining the words label.

Discerning Attention Hypothesis

In 1977, Shiffrin & Schneider analyzed this test and evaluate the attention theory. He stated that speed of processing is also similar with the difference between regular and restricted processes. If a person is reading quickly, so he never pays attentive towards the color of the words (Yanagisawa et al., 2010). If a person is reading quickly, so he never pays attentive towards the color of the words. Attention towards the words has highly changed by increasing the different methods.
