Introduction

One of the way in which the quality and performance can be improved in order to deal with the customers expectation has been highlighted as Total Quality Management. In this approach, all the quality related functions of the company that lies at different organizational levels are related and integrated. Key principles of strategic quality management is a comprehensive aspect taking into account the management of the quality design, processes, quality improvement along with the quality assurance. The company employees play an influential role in a way to take the quality measures of all the levels of an organization. This assignment is prepared with an objective to highlight the quality management processes of Toyota while operating within the boundaries of Europe by relating those processes with the strategic quality management key principles.

Quality assurance methods serves as the foundation of the total quality management and were first initiated in the world around the duration of the First World War. The manufacturing efforts got abrupt at the time of war leading to the production of poor quality products and services. In order to make correction to the aspect, the quality inspectors were introduced by larger organization at their production lines as a fact of assurance that the failures that occur because of the quality deficiencies can be kept at the minimum level.

Toyota Motor Corporation occupies a place as one of the leading automobile manufacturer all over the world, offering a range of vehicles meeting the needs of a number of target markets. Toyota operates about 52 manufacturing companies in 27 different countries of the globe having a consolidated workforce of over 309,700 members. As far as the operations of Toyota in Europe are concerned, the organization has been operating in the place since 1960's. In order to deal with the needs and preferences of target market belonging to different countries, Toyota management ensure to provide them with the vehicle that is according to their expectation with an aim to manage the quality aspects all over the globe. Toyota management has kept the fact in mind that the Europeans want the vehicles that are specifically designed for the nation. In this view, European Design and Development Centre was created by the organization in the year 2000.
