Statement of Purpose

The decision, which I have made, to pursue my further studies, from UC Berkeley is influenced by my desire to become a part of this prestigious institution. This institute offers what it takes to major in economics. This program offers a n opportunity to discover those aspects of the political and economic institutions which affect the country on the whole (cnr.berkeley.edu).

Since, life is hard, but once you accept it, will be much easier, I am positive, optimistic and fearless spirit who faces everyday choices and challenges. I was born in a small town, in south of China, to a very ordinary peasant family. However, I did not like my friends peacefully grow up and get married. Because I have a pair of open and farsighted parents, they gave me a better life experience. When I was born, I was a premature girl and very weak. Grandparents and other relatives tried to persuade my parents to give up me. (Because I was weak and sick, if not treated I may die at any time, at that time, girl is not as valuable as boy.) However, my parents insisted on treating me and did not give up me. Fortunately, I survived and grew up healthy, as well. They paid more attention on my health and education. They believe a girl is same as a boy, and I can do excellent too. In order to give me better living conditions, they only have me, a girl. In order to develop me, they sacrificed a lot; putting a lot, whatever they can do.

Most Chinese children's life is parents arrange; however, this is not the case with me. When I was chosen to be an athlete, they support me because they know that exercise will make me healthier. I joined the school team and ran 800 meters at my second grade. After 4 years of continuous and grueling training, I took part in numerous competitions and got a lot of medals. I had a chance to get in the national team at my seventh grade. I made a choice; I went to an international private school because I know I want to become an educated person.
