Introduction

This paper aims to provide information about the role sports in promoting a company's brand. It provides reasons that contribute to a success or failure of an organization's marketing campaign. It would include two different scenarios of companies that invested money on promoting themselves in the global market. The paper would include a comparison of two companies with different scenarios. The major aim is to provide factors that have negative and positive impacts on the success of a marketing campaign in the industry of sports. The industry of sports is a source of companies to promote their products in all around the globe. For example: Pepsi is actively involved in promoting itself by sponsoring many cricket events. It allows organization to relate their product with the sports. It also allows organizations to cater that group of customers that have interest in sports. It is very common for people to go for a brand that is consumed by their favourite sports celebrity. For example: Pepsi Cola Limited made a famous footballer “David Beckham' its brand ambassador. The aim was to promote Pepsi through sports industry (Hashemi, Khani and Ahanijan, 2012, pp2-4).

There are a large number of activities that a sports manager carries. The sports manager is responsible to recruit and maintain an effective team. He/she is responsible to keep the sports players motivated and directed towards the achievement of goals and objectives. Sports manager is also responsible to eliminate any possible conflicts in the team (Lussier and .Kimbal, 2009, pp. 419). The sports managers are also involved in managing the risk. They play a key role in minimizing risk. They need to ensure that team members follow all the laws. They give important consideration on insurance and law that help to manage the risk. Any kind of sports involves some kind of risk. Risk in sports may involve injuries and even deaths. Managers need to develop program for risk management in order to ensure the health of team members (Nohr, 2009, pp.3). Sports managers are actively involved in providing training to their team members. They are also involved in monitoring and control. They use their skills and expertise to identify any problem within the team. They provide additional information and training to solve the problem that team members face. The performance of manager in leading team has direct relationship with the overall performance of the team (Maclean, 2001, N.D).

In many practices, it is quite evident that effectiveness in marketing campaign has impact on the sports activities. The marketing campaign can be a factor that defines a success or failure of a sports team. For instance, the success story of Red Bull Stratos came from effectives in marketing campaign by the Red bull company.
