Task 2

For my assignment, I have chosen religious groups that are Christianity and Judaism. These two groups are Abrahamic religions. These two religions are similar in origins, but their practices, believing and teachings are different. There is a close relationship between Christianity and Judaism. They both historically relates with each other. Jesus is actually the author of most of the New Testament and all the earliest members of Christian churches were Jews. The customs of Jewish were followed by the Jesus family, and Hebrew Bible was frequently quoted by the Jesus. He is believed as a Messiah by his followers. In Jewish Bible Jewish figure is also predicted.

Despite of its Jewish background, It was not long since when Christianity was regarded as something else or different than a new Jewish act. First Christian council, convened by the apostles, concluded that pagan who converts in to Christianity did not need to follow the laws of Jewish ritual. Soon after this converting in to Christianity got almost exclusively pagans and due to this Christianity religion moved further from the religion of Judaism.

In the history of 2000 years since when Jesus, the relationship of Christianity and the ancient faith in which the Christianity is rooted are often been strained. Jews have often been criticized by Christians as they reject Jesus as their messiah, and Christians has often been criticized by Jews for having the concept of one God and on the concept of following false messiah. According to the New Testament reports Jews were the first one to persecute Christians, and when Christians became the powerful group, then they frequently started persecuting Jews (Wilson, 1991, pp.1-4).Differences of practices and believing in the religions of Christians and Jews
