Culture is a collective of arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement that helps in distinguishing one society from another. In other words, culture is a term that is used to explain the beliefs, norms, behaviour and set of values shared by the individuals of the society. Subculture is the further grouping the culture on the basis of people who share same type of values, beliefs and they face same consequences and issues in their daily life. SO, subculture helps a group of people to develop belongingness for each other as they have most of the things common. For studying the human behaviour one should study the branch of science that is well known as 'sociology' (Bond, 1996, pp.111). The scientific study of social behaviour of human is known as Sociology. It is very clear that culture and lifestyle greatly affect our behaviour as our culture is linked to it. Lifestyle of an individual is dependent on the combination of habits and behaviour that he or she carries.
The culture is the broader platform on which one performs these behaviours and habits that makes up one's lifestyle. The way we manage our self reflects our culture, knowledge and experience. Lifestyle is a part of culture it can be treated under the subculture head. Both lifestyle and behaviour are interconnected and can be treated in a similar way. Human behaviour is made up of a combination of actions that can be described specifically, measured and observed. Our (human being) behaviour is mainly divided into two kinds; conscious and un-conscious behaviour. Conscious behaviour consists of behaviours such as walking, eating, driving etc. while un-conscious behaviour is composed of features like reflex responses, blinking, breathing etc.
According to David Matsumoto, our behaviour is composed of three components human nature, personality and culture and he argued that individual behaviours are the mixture of these three. Cultural awareness helps in forming the foundation of communication that keeps on reminding us about our cultural beliefs, perceptions and values. Most of the time we ask questions from ourselves that why we do thing like that? What makes us do so? The answer is just one it's our behaviour that forces us to do so (Ekman, 1992, pp.551). Even a child knows how to behave as he or she has been continuously forced to have such behaviour by parents. The experiences and knowledge also helps us in forming a strong relationship between the behaviour as both of them guide us that if we use this particular behaviour we will have to bear these consequences. This is the reason that we always think of those events that were caused due to a particular behaviour. When we interact with people who belong to other cultures, our cultural awareness comes forth and tries to control our behaviour. Every individual behaves in a different way due to his or her culture. Often people face misinterpretations when they lack in awareness of their ...
