Introduction

Video game is a game which people, usually, kids play with the help of aural and visual devices and which displays the whole scenario on the screen with controllers in the hands of those people who are playing the game. Nowadays, the playing of video games is unlimited to kids but, people of bigger ages also play these games with full interest. Violent video games are those in which the scenario of game portrays some criminal, immoral or any other activities that are against the law. Video games are truly entertaining, enjoyable and compelling, and they also replace many indoor games, but, on the other hand, violent video games can be view as a threat to the society because there is always a chance that children playing these games may act violently and in an unlawful way in real life. Acting in an unlawful manner just because of playing some violent video games does not seem to be realistic; the impact of video games does not seem to affect the personality of any individual.

First Argument

All video games, which are available in market, legally do have game ratings regardless of the fact that whether they are violent or not, and playing aggressive video games provide youngsters an alternative to harsh games. To buy any highly rated games, it is a rule of law that kids should show their identities as a proof that they are above 17 years of age. If they will not have any identification as a proof, they will not be able to have access to that game. Games like 'Grand Theft Auto', 'Counter Strike' and others do entails in them severe violence, but there are no proven facts that these games pose make children act violently in their real life. Moreover, the adolescent crime rate has declined in USA and is inversely proportional to the fame of violent video games (ProCon.ogr, 2013,pp- n.d). Apart from this when children and youth play violent video games, it provides them an alternate to portray their feelings of aggression and anger without maintain a physical contact with friends and peers, reason being that children and youth want to maintain their status and they want to act like civilized people (Debate.org, 2013,pp- n.d).

Counter Argument

The violent video games pose a serious influence on the kids' and youth's real life. Despite the fact that there are ratings such as E, T, M etc of violent video games many kids and children play these games regardless of their age. There is an ample amount of children, who listen to the songs of their own choice whether the songs are highly rated or not, and play and purchase games without the identification as a proof. The impact is that they usually get involved in the regular use of foul language, continuous fighting, behaving with parents and teachers and becoming more and more aggressive in their real life (Eyer 2010, pp-n.d).
