Types of social structure theories

In criminology, the social structure of the theory consists of three sub-theories: social disorganization, strain and Cultural Deviance.

Social disorganization is the type of criminological theory attributing changes in crime and delinquency over time and between the territories of the lack or failure of public institutions (e.g. family, schools, churches and local government) and community relations, which traditionally encourages cooperative relationships among people (Merton, 2007).
