Research Proposal in Theories Related To Gender & Social Behavior of Genders in Various Cultures

Abstract

This research proposal will be focusing on the gender differences and the human behavior that are related with different genders. And since it varies from different societies and cultures, and every culture had different aspects and way of living and treating the opposite genders. There are many theories and researches done in order to study these behaviors. So this research proposal will help into going further in this study.

Introduction

The Gender differences can create a lot of difference in the human behavior and in many ways. Researchers have been constantly striving to study the origin and the basis of these differences. And psychologists are actively willing to work on it and they want to acknowledge all these aspects of the human behavior, abilities and personalities due to the gender behavior, and also enabling them to analyze the different causes of these behaviors. Many theories have been developed to differentiate between them. In these theories the causes that are created due to the gender differences have been described briefly such as, psychological, social process and biological helps to diagnose the differences.

The psychologists have considered two types of origins for these theories: first involves developed psychological disposition and the second involves the social structure. These theories show that men and women possess different developed mechanism which makes them different psychologically and they are likely to act differently in social society. And then their behaviors make them offer different roles in the society which highlight their personalities. Although the environmental conditions can play an important role in the behaviors of the men and women that makes them act in a different way according to the cultural and situational conditions. This social structure has been changing by time according to the different societies. These sex differences create different values in the society and specially the variation between the physical aspects that is size and the structure of the human body. Since the men have a stronger image in the society and the women are meant to be weak and the sensitive part of the society. That's how they interact in the society according to their physical appearances.

Problem Statement

The problem arises in this area where cultural differences arise in the society, where women are discriminated among men and different expectation are aroused through that. The social control is causes main problems in the behavior of the genders. Because sometimes in many cultures and aspects, women are hold back and the main decision powers are given to the man and they are even given the superiority. Since the culture defines the total way of living of the humans. There is certain restriction that creates the discomfort in the behavior of the women (Lindsey, 2012, pp 54).
