Introduction

Health of a person in a community is influenced by environmental, cultural, socioeconomic, and biological factors. Health is a basic right of every person, should be based on nonviolence, non-discrimination, and freedom of sexual orientation. Every person should have the freedom in regard to his or her bodies, access to good education, safe healthy environment, proper housing, and work security (Ingham, 2006, p.3).

“Sexual health” is the physical and mental state, which enables the person to enjoy a sexual life without any risks and being able to decide to have children or not. It is the ability of both men and women to express and enjoy their sexual emotions, being free from violence and without being infected by STDs or undesired pregnancies (Ingham, 2006, p. 3). Men and women have the rights to have:

The autonomy over their bodies.

Mutual respect in their sexual relations.

To enjoy a safe sex life.

The right to value personal relations.

The right to access safe, pleasurable, and healthy practice of sexuality and reproduction, without being affected from coercion or violence.

The right to access to proper information about differing needs and realities.

The right to access the different contraceptive methods.

The right to access the new methods of assisted reproduction for safe pregnancy (Ingham, 2006, p.3).

Sexual health is influenced various factors such as:

Low self-esteem.

Lack of knowledge and skills.

Lack of knowledge about sexual behaviour.

Availability of proper resources, such as condoms.

Attitudes of society which affects access to proper resources.

Aim of Essay

The aim of this essay is to discuss an issue of sex health for teen girls and to know the about teen pregnancy, sexual transmitted infections, sexual violence, pornography and the barriers to better sexual health.

Issue of Sex Health for Teen Girls

Girls face many obstacles and challenges in fulfilling their reproductive and sexual health rights, and as a result, they have limited access to STDs prevention and support services. There are large numbers of teen girls, who involve in risky sexual behaviours, they carry STDs, or become pregnant. The teen girls face many challenges when they are become mature. The diversity of experiences faced by teen girls depends on socioeconomic, racial, ethnic backgrounds, society, and culture, greatly influence the maturity process in teen girls. Society and culture shape their opinions, thoughts, and their beliefs (Males, 2010, pp. 2-20). Parents want their children to know the topics about sexuality, safe sex and the disease preventions skills.
