INTRODUCTION

Like other types of harassment, sexual harassment encompasses any comment, gesture, action or attention of a sexual nature that aims to hurt, offend or intimidate another person. Sexual harassment focuses on things like the appearance of the person, the body parts or sexual orientation. Sexual harassment also includes spreading rumors or gossip about others sexual nature. Sexual harassment can be verbal (like making rude comments about someone), but need not be said in words. Bullies can use technology devices to sexually harass someone (like sending text messages or inappropriate videos). Sometimes sexual harassment can be physical type (Blomfield, Adrian, 2008).

Sexual harassment can happen not only to the girls. Kids can sexually harass the girls, but girls can also molest boys. In the the same manner girls can harass other girls and other guys, as well. Sexual harassment is not limited to people of the same age. Adults sometimes sexually harass young people (and sometimes teens harass adults, although this is quite rare). Most of the time, sexual harassment comes from people of the same age group. In any event, any type of sexual harassment is offensive. Like any other form of harassment, people who are victims of sexual harassment can experience great emotional stress if the situation continues without being able to find any relief. This paper focuses on the study of the different aspects related to sexual harassment (Blomfield, Adrian, 2008).

What behaviors include sexual harassment?

There are pictures, jokes, expressions and ways of contacting deemed "inappropriate" for good reason. If a behavior or interaction directs you or someone you know in a violent manner, which is bothering you, you should talk to a trusted adult. This is because this can also be classed as sexual harassment (Blomfield, Adrian, 2008). Sexual harassment includes the following behaviors:

Jokes or comments or gestures of a sexual nature about someone.

Spreading sexual rumors (in person, in writing, by phone or online) on someone.

Writing sexually explicit messages about others in the toilets or other public places.

Showing videos or inappropriate sexual images of another person.

Post comments, pictures or videos of a sexual nature on social networks like Facebook, or texting sexually explicit.

Making comments or propositions of a sexual nature by pretending to be someone else.

Touching, pinching or fondling another person deliberately in a sexual manner.

Stretch of clothing, rubbing against another person or body deliberately in a sexual manner (Blomfield, Adrian, 2008).

This is one of the reasons why sending clear sexual content is not a good idea, even if sent within a relationship. In some cases, these messages can be considered a form of sexual harassment can have serious consequences. Also, messages or intimate images can fall into the wrong hands and be used for evil purposes, to embarrass, intimidate or humiliate the involved individual. Forcing another individual in to things that they do not want to do, like kissing, oral sex or intercourse goes far beyond sexual harassment.
